LIVE WELL- THE JOURNEY TO DISCOVERY OF FOOD, PEOPLE AND CULTURE. MAY 2007

A celebration of diversity brought people together on 25th May at Beenleigh Neighbourhood Centre, for the Launch of a Multicultural Cooking Book. A collection of recipes from around the world were cooked, tasted and recorded in a book by members of a multicultural group, which met at B.N.C. every Friday morning. The program brought together people to enjoy each others company, to learn from each other, as a celebration of diversity and richness of Australian life. 1 2 3 Magic – Managing Difficult Behaviours in Children 2 – 12 yrs Workshop May-June 2007

One of the gaps that were identified within the local community was the need for a workshop to assist parents, caregivers, teachers, grandparents, anyone in the community who deals with children aged between 2 -12 years in managing their difficult behaviours.

This two day workshop (run over two weeks) is designed to

  • increase the caregivers knowledge about what works in managing difficult behaviours and what do not
  • Lessen their feelings of frustration
  • To get better results with less effort and stress whey the caregivers are dealing with their children’s troublesome behaviour.

Live Well, Walking Together. June 2007

It is all about living well as the name suggests…and how better to begin, than to walk, on a beautiful morning, in Doug Larsen Park, That is, what the group “Walking Together” does every Monday morning. They enjoy and benefit from, a light exercise, among the trees and greeting people, welcomed by the sunshine. But this program is not just about walking, also the group shares their stories, latest news, and stay connected to each other and nature.
